Olympi-shambles of the Day: Shin v Heidemann

South Korea’s Shin A-Lam was defeated by Germany’s Britta Heidemann in the semi-final of the Women’s Individual Epee competition after a clock malfunction added an extra second to the match, allowing Heidemann the chance to score the decisive hit in her 6-5 victory.
A crying Shin was then forced to wait on the piste as her team attempted to lodge an appeal; after half an hour she was led away by officials, only to be brought back minutes later to compete in the bronze medal match against China’s Sun Yujie.Unsurprisingly, Shin lost.

Those victims who were slaughtered are people that I knew well. These children I knew well, personally. I ate with their families. I had social ties with them. The regime cannot lie about these people, who they were and what they did to them. It was a brutal act by the regime against people who were with the revolution.
